Application type
To start your application, please select the relevant dental profession to you from the main application type list below.
Based on the profession you select, you can choose to complete an application for registration, a skills assessment, or both from the sub application list.
NOTE FOR GENERAL DENTISTS:
The Australian Dental Council is no longer collecting documents and information for skills assessments for migration purposes at the beginning of the dental practitioner assessment process.
If you are planning on requesting a skill assessment for migration purposes, you will be provided with an opportunity to request this once you have passed both the written and practical examinations with the ADC.
To complete your Skills Assessment, you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Evidence of registration or licence to practise dentistry
- Two written professional references
- Evidence of practice or work history as a registered or licensed dentist
- Letter or Certificate of Good Standing*
*Your Letter or Certificate of Good Standing must be sent directly to us from the organisation responsible for regulating dental registration or dental licence in your country of practice. We accept certificates/letters of good standing in electronic and hard copy formats. Letters of good standing are valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
Registration Application
Is for candidates who need to undertake the ADC’s full practitioner assessment process.
Skills Assessment Application (general dentists, dental specialists, dental assistants only)
Is for candidates who have graduated from an approved program and are eligible to register with Ahpra without going through the ADC assessment process.
If you have answered yes to one of the questions above, please upload further information as part of your application.
You will need to request a Letter of Good Standing to be sent directly to the ADC. You will not be able to complete your initial assessment until the ADC has received and assessed this information as acceptable.
Please upload a dated and signed statement advising why you have not worked as a dental practitioner in the last 5 years as your letter of employment.
